Dall sheep inhabit interior Alaska's mountain landscape, and in general, tend to be tolerant of human presence. Although, access to them can be difficult due to their favored dwelling along mountain ridges. I've photographed them with success in Denali National Park, and the Brooks Range. Rams and ewes with lambs form groups separately save for the rut season. Typically, later summer or early autumn is the best time for photography, since their new winter coat is growing.
