Tongass National Forest photo gallery

The 17 million acre Tongass National Forest is the earth's largest remaining temperate rainforest. Located in southeast Alaska, it covers many islands and mainland shores along the famous inside passage. Besides the trees, flora and fauna that make the forest home, many Alaska native tribes, towns and communities live in the region, including Ketchikan and Juneau, Alaska's capital city.
