The moose is one of Alaska's wilderness icons. Although large and ungainly, they are built perfectly for traveling across the tundra and taiga. They inhabit most of Alaska and can grow to a huge size of 1600 pounds. Long legs, a large body, a very large nose, and massive antlers on the bulls make the animal distinctive.
