Valdez
The coastal town of Valdez is located along the mountain shores of southcentral Alaska. It is a former gold rush town, and now hosts the terminus of the Trans Alaska Oil Pipeline. It came to fame from the 1964 Alaska earthquake and then later from the 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill that occurred in its nearby waters.
